The Reader's Digest Version:
Summer '86: Reed graduates from the Family Practice residency program of the University Of Texas Health Science Center At Houston. Finally making some real money, and not on call, he begins betting football. As a part-time seasonal pursuit, it fits a 60-70 hour work week.

July '04: Reed decides it's time to share.
